the drive down went great! our children surprised us! nathan rose's mom was a great host as we stayed in upland for a few days visiting with our san diego college crew. then we went back to Huntington to celebrate the 4th and my Dad's Birthday. Collis was working on a shoot in Vegas so we missed him, but his bday was on the 3rd, so Happy Bday to you too. We missed you! It is my mom's Bday...today! My Uncle visited and got a hotel room at the Hyatt at the beach. We parked at the hotel for some easy parking during a very crowded holiday. We got to go to the beach and then came back for fireworks after a BBQ at my mom's. Sunday, we visited our old church Immanuel in Redondo and got to picnic with our friends there. Then we visited Gia, James and Joseph. Just like old times and the kids had a blast. The ride back up Monday was not quite so easy as the way up, but not too bad. Just a little bit more tired and everyone getting a little sick. We aren't too happy to be back up in the smoke again, and we are breaking all the heat records. It was 107 on the car thermometer as we drove back into town!
